RESEARCH YOUR ARTIST
When you have committed to a certain design idea, please refer to our resident tattoo artists page as well as our Gallery.
If you are unsure of which tattoo artist, you would like to work with send us an email or give us a call and we will be happy to advise. Another key piece of advise – a tattoo is permanent so please choose wisely.
KNOW YOUR PAIN TOLERANCE
Everyone has a different pain threshold, respect your body limit. If you are sensitive and don’t have a very high pain threshold, we would advise avoiding the ribs, backs or knees, elbows, or groin areas for your first tattoo. Practicing breathing techniques can also help in reducing pain.
For more information please see a rough pain chart below.
KILLING TIME: WHAT TO DO WHILST GETTING A TATTOO
Depending on the size and design of your tattoo, tattooing times vary some customers might be in for an hour whilst others could be in for half a day. Whilst you are being tattooed, we would advise that you bring an iPad, music or a book. Although we do not permit food in the parlour we would advise bringing water to keep yourself hydrated.
AFTERCARE: WINTER, SUMMER, SPRING, AUTUMN
Information on necessary after care for your tattoo will be after your session, if you would like to read up on this prior to your consultation click here to read the steps of the process.
During the healing process you we advise that your tattoo is kept away from the sun and UV light as it will cause damage. UV rays from the sun are absorbed from the skin and will break up the pigment particles in your tattoo causing it to fade.
If you regularly expose your sun to sunlight sun block is the best option to keep your tattoo looking healthy and revitalised.
